You are so busy juggling the responsibilities of your intense career and full family life that you haven't been able to squeeze in any exercise (and sleep and healthy eating feel tough to come by as well). You are starting to feel the effects this lifestyle is having on your body. You are exhausted and distracted, your joints feel more stiff by the day, and your back aches from so much sitting.
You've heard good things about yoga, but you're not sure if it will be a good fit for you. You need actionable, tangible results, not new age hocus pocus, and you certainly don't want to waste your time. If you're going to have a yoga practice, you know you need a teacher who makes it as easy as possible to see positive change quickly and tailors the practice to your schedule, needs and goals.
I started FCYW because yoga (without a doubt) saved my life and I want to pay it forward. I'm goal oriented and driven by nature and left unchecked, those potentially positive traits were highly problematic. At 22 — after more than a decade of disordered eating and serious injuries resulting in multiple hip surgeries — I was going crazy trying to live up to my own unrealistic expectations. My yoga practice radically changed the way I understood and related to myself. It taught me that true power, strength, and success comes only as a result of a life lived in balance. I am incredibly passionate about bringing the benefits of yoga to my fellow over-achievers in a way that is accessible, helpful, and meaningful.
