Francesca: I just today stumbled upon your blog while perusing the internet and I have been captivated by all your post which I just spent and hour reading through and your advice, clarity and professionalism.
I just finished my YTT in Costa Rica with Paula Tursi from Reflections Yoga in NYC. It was an amazing program and I am very pleased with the training. I am 56 years old and came to yoga about 7 years ago. Yoga has been such a moving and profound experience for me, especially as I move into my later years. I had my own garden design business for many years and it just is becoming too physical for me to continue. So, I went for my Yoga Teacher Training, and here I am, deciding what to do with it.
I think private classes would be something that would work for me, and I’m researching info (hence coming across your blog) on how to get started as a private yoga teacher.
I am not looking to work full time, perhaps 25-30 hours per week. I would like to focus my business on those over 50, those new to yoga and men. I feel that these groups are largely underserved in the yoga studios here in NJ. Your information has been very helpful as I consider all options in beginning my practice. I received the first of the three classes you offer online, and would be interested in the 25 hour class if you are planning on doing one in NYC soon. I also am planning on taking a Corporate Chair Yoga program at Reflections in April.
If there are any past blogs that you think might be helpful for me, please pass them along. I am hungry for information.
