Our friends at @offeringtree are at it again! The Our friends at @offeringtree are at it again! They are leading a fantastic workshop that I think you'll love.

"To have a thriving career as a yoga teacher, your first priority is to take care of yourself. Without making time for self-care the teaching journey can become unsustainable and less enjoyable, and will feel out of alignment with the principles that we teach. It is important for a teacher to model the tools that they are sharing with others and to find balance in giving to others and receiving nourishment themselves.

Join @lizabertiniyogacoaching and @myogamichelle, Co-Founders of The Thread Yoga Collective, as they share simple ways to support your teaching through well-being of mind, body, and soul.

In this session you will:

•Increase self-awareness and deep inner listening to identify your needs through visualization, reflection and journaling.

•Learn simple ways to nourish yourself that will help you refill your well and help you show up as your best self in teaching and in life.

•Create a personal self-care plan to support you.

Afterwards, feel energized and empowered to bolster the foundation of your business–your wellness."

One of the most downloaded episodes of this podcas One of the most downloaded episodes of this podcast is Episode 59: ROM, Neuroscience + Yoga with Garrett Neill. In that episode we talked about the difference between Active Range of Motion and Passive Range of Motion, the three main barriers to range of motion that show up in our joints, some of the reasons the body might “tighten” and limit our range of motion, what we should we be thinking about in terms of how we teach movement when it comes to creating stability and how mobility and flexibility are different from one another.

I’m not at all surprised that this continues to be such a popular episode (it is downloaded every single day!) because the human body is incredibly complex and as movement teachers many of us are hungry for more knowledge and information about how the body works.

That’s why today I am SO excited to be bringing Dr. Garrett Neill back to the podcast to dive even deeper into the science of tissue adaptation!

In this episode you’ll hear:
🔸an explanation of some commonly used terms in the movement space like:
Neuroscience
Range of Motion
Biomechanics
Tissue adaptation
Motor control
Dissociated movement
Coupled Motion

🔸how to create sequences that prepare students for big movements based on the information neuroscience offers us about tissue adaptation

🔸Garrett’s thoughts on foam rolling “tight” muscles

🔸what is most important for yoga teachers to understand about motor control

🔸why task based exercises and repetition are key

🔸what movements are most important to include and
what is best to leave out when working on balance

🔸what to do when students don’t have the ability to move segmentally through their spine (and most don’t!)

@drgarrettneill and I can’t wait for you to listen and share your most important takeaways from the episode!
