Over the course of several full days together you will learn practical and tangible actions that will change all your teaching {private and group classes} right away. You will also take a deep dive into your own personal development and be empowered to hear and trust your intuition {one of your greatest tools in private teaching.}
It exposes them and it makes you, the teacher, vulnerable as well. Your clients are looking to you for guidance and expertise. Ideally, they need you to create a place for healing and growth and I know that you want to affect and support change in them on a deep level.
I know that it can be uncomfortable to sit in front of a new client for the first time. You are a stranger in their home, and yet it is your job to take care of them.
I know how challenging it can be to have someone sign up for lessons with you, and then not give you any feedback about their experience.
When I was a new teacher, a friend (and truly excellent teacher) with a full schedule passed on a private client to me. "She really likes to chat and she is kind of lazy. It is a pretty easy gig." My friend told me. "Ok," I thought, "I guess I can do that." But right away I had a very different sense of this client and a few sessions into our work together, something was significant was shifting for her. She didn't seem lazy at all to me. It seemed to me that she needed to be challenged in a way that was accessible and made sense to her.
She became open to trying new poses, was feeling more aware of the inherent strength in her body and as a result was actually getting stronger. She was proud of the changes she was making and that began to affect the kind of strength she felt and carried into her personal relationships at work and at home. Her yoga practice began to have a meaningful impact on the way she lived her entire life.
She had such a powerful experience she recommended me to her two best friends. And they both felt that I had changed their lives (although it wasn't me at all, it was them, and yoga) and insisted their husbands try yoga... with me. And their husbands' golf game improved so much their co-workers insisted on practicing yoga with me. And that is how my private practice grew so quickly.
